The Challenge
A family-run operator that search couldn’t find
MG Self Storage is a family-run container storage business in Exeter, well known locally for its service but hard to find online. They came to us with a simple goal: turn local searches into real enquiries.
The harder problem sat under the bonnet. The existing website was built on Wix, which limited almost every move we wanted to make: little control over technical SEO and site structure, awkward metadata, and no straightforward way for the owner to manage his own content.
The Work
An 11-month programme, built to compound
SEO pays off through consistent, quality work over time. Three phases took MG from foundations to local dominance.

Foundations
From January 2023: keyword research to map the opportunity, then the quick wins. A metadata refresh, optimised header tags and a proper internal-linking structure, plus tidied social metadata and two Google Business Profiles consolidated into one.

Content and authority
The two things MG was missing most. A steady stream of SEO-optimised blog content alongside genuine authority building through citations, guest posting and link building.

A rebuild off Wix
We moved MG onto a flexible platform the owner could edit himself. It loaded faster, was far easier to manage, and removed the technical ceiling Wix had imposed. Engagement climbed and bounce rate dropped.
