Web development for self-storage operators.
Built around how people actually book storage. Live unit availability, instant quotes, real bookings, all integrated with the systems you already run.
A storage site is not a brochure. It's a booking engine.
Most self-storage websites in the UK are built by agencies who treat them like they would treat a dentist or a law firm. They aren't. Storage operators have specific workflows that the website has to support, or it's actively losing you bookings.
When someone searches for storage they want three answers fast: do you have a unit my size, what does it cost, and how soon can I move in. A site that takes them through five pages of marketing copy before showing a unit price is a site that’s losing 60-70% of its visitors to competitors with quoter widgets above the fold. Ask anyone who has run AB tests on a storage operator site, calculator-first, marketing-second wins every time.
On top of that, most operators run unit availability inside an operations system (Stora, SiteLink, storEDGE, Easystorage, custom CRMs) that the public site needs to read from in real time. Hard-coded “we have units available, call us” is the lazy answer. The proper answer is API integration that pulls live availability and pricing into the page so what the visitor sees is what they get.
We’ve been building self-storage sites for over four years. Quickfit, A Team for Storage, OrangeBox, Sheeplands, Standby Self Storage, Aerospheres, all sector-specific builds, all integrated with the operator’s real stack. We know what works and what loses you money.
Single-facility vs multi-facility builds
Single-facility sites are simpler, one location, one quoter, one booking flow, focus on local SEO and conversion. Multi-facility sites are an architecture problem: location selector, per-facility unit availability, distinct content per location, scalable URLs, and a navigation that doesn’t hide the user’s nearest facility three clicks deep. Both built around the same conversion principles, but the technical model is different and we scope them differently.
Stora-ready, Stora-friendly, or built without it
If you’re on Stora, we plug straight in via Stora X (our middleware, see /self-storage-plugins/). If you’re on SiteLink, storEDGE, or a bespoke system, we integrate with what you have. If you have no operations system yet, the site can run standalone with our quoter and booking widgets handling enquiries until you’re ready to plug something in.
Faster bookings. More of them.
Built for Self-Storage.
Live availability + pricing
Real-time unit availability pulled from your operations system. No more "call us to check", visitors see exactly what's available when they look.
Quoter + booking flow
Storage Quoter and Storage Booking widgets, configurable for single or multi-facility, with email + SMS confirmation flows.
Multi-location architecture
Location selector, per-facility pages with distinct content + reviews, scalable URL structure that compounds for SEO as you add facilities.
Mobile-first, conversion-tuned
Most storage searches happen on mobile under stress (just got an eviction notice, just sold a house). Layouts and forms tuned for one-handed completion in under 90 seconds.
Stora X integration
Our proprietary middleware plugin connects WordPress sites directly to the Amax Connect for live availability, pricing, and booking sync.
Performance + Core Web Vitals
Storage sites are speed-critical for both UX and Google rankings. Our builds typically score 90+ on PageSpeed Insights mobile, before optimisation.
Site problems losing operators bookings.
"Visitors land, look around, and leave without enquiring."
Almost always a “no quoter above the fold” problem. People want a price within 5 seconds of landing. We move the quoter to be the first thing they see; conversion typically doubles.
"We have to manually update unit prices every month."
You’re running on flat HTML pages. We integrate with your operations system (Stora, SiteLink, storEDGE, custom) so prices come from the source, change them once, they update site-wide.
"The booking form goes to spam. Half my leads are lost."
Form-to-email is fragile. We replace with a proper enquiry workflow, leads land in your CRM, plus SMS notification, plus auto-reply to the customer with a unit reservation. Zero lost leads.
"Our site is slow. Customers complain on Google reviews."
Storage sites tend to bloat with badly-compressed photos and poorly-loaded scripts. We rebuild the front-end with modern image formats, lazy loading, and zero render-blocking, Lighthouse mobile typically goes from 30-something to 90+.
"We have 4 facilities but the site only really features one."
Classic multi-facility-on-single-facility-architecture problem. We rebuild with proper location architecture so each facility has equal SEO weight, and visitors find their nearest facility in one click.
"We can't take payment online."
We integrate Stripe / GoCardless for deposit + first-month payments at booking, then the operations system takes over for monthly billing. Reduces no-show rate dramatically, people who’ve paid, show up.
A clear process. No black boxes.

Quickfit
Old site was marketing-first, visitors landed on a homepage with a hero banner, scrolled three sections of brand copy, then hunted through a menu to find products. Conversion rate was below sector average.
Rebuilt with calculator/configurator front-and-centre. Stripped marketing copy down to one sentence. Made the path from landing to enquiry under 30 seconds. Same principles we apply to storage sites, front-load the action, defer the marketing.
+4,470% organic sessions. The configurator-first layout proved itself in the first month. Same patterns work on storage sites: lead with the quoter, hide nothing, get out of the way.
Conversion-led, not design-led.
Storage sites have one job: convert browsers into enquiries. Everything else is wallpaper.
Calculator-first or it doesn't ship
The quoter is above the fold, period. Marketing copy lives below. We don't ship sites that hide the action behind a hero image.
Real integrations, not iframes
Where API access exists (Stora, modern operations systems), we integrate properly so the site shows live data. No iframe widgets pretending to be native.
Mobile-first, fully tested
70%+ of storage searches are mobile. We test on real devices (not just Chrome devtools), in real network conditions (4G, throttled), with thumb-only navigation.
Owned by you, not us
Sites are WordPress, you own them, you can edit them, no agency lock-in. Hosting recommendations included if you want managed; nothing forced if you don't.
SEO-aware, not SEO-blind
Every build assumes SEO matters. URL structures, schema, sitemaps, redirects from the old site, all done properly so launch doesn't tank rankings.

A real working version of our Storage Quoter, same one running on operator sites today. Try it. Pick a location, choose a size, move-in date, the same flow your customers would see on your site.
