Privacy Policy
How Amax Marketing handles information in connection with Amax Connect.
Last updated 31 July 2026
This policy explains what information we collect when you use this website and the Amax Connect service, and how we use it.
Who we are
This website, amaxmarketing.co.uk/connect, is operated by Amax Digital Marketing Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 14032443, registered office Amax House Unit B1b, Neptune Road, Harrow, England, HA1 4HX. For anything on this page, contact [email protected].
For this website we are the data controller. Where Amax Connect runs on a storage operator's own website, that operator is the controller of their customers' data and we act on their instructions. Those two roles are covered separately below.
What we collect on this website
- When you request a demo. Your name and work email, which are required, and optionally your phone number, company, website, current booking setup, number of locations, how you heard about us, and anything you write in the message box. If you arrive from the storefront builder, the configuration you built travels with the enquiry so we can open the call looking at it. That is a set of design choices, not personal data.
- Marketing consent. A yes or no, recorded with the enquiry, for whether we may email you about product updates.
- Analytics, only if you accept. Google Analytics 4 records pages viewed and general location at city level. It is switched off until you press Accept on the cookie banner. See the cookie policy.
- Server logs. Our host and Cloudflare keep short-lived records of IP addresses and requests for security and troubleshooting.
Why, and on what basis
- To answer your enquiry and run the demo. Our legitimate interest in responding to someone who contacted us, and steps towards a contract if you go ahead.
- To send product updates. Only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us.
- To improve the site. Your consent, given through the cookie banner.
- To keep the site secure. Our legitimate interest in preventing abuse.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Booking data on an operator's website
When a self-storage operator installs Amax Connect, their customers' details flow from their website into their own Stora account. That includes name, email address, phone number, what they need storage for, how they heard about the operator, move-in date, and whether they are booking as a person or a business. Card details are entered on Stora's own secure page and never reach the operator's website or us.
If the operator switches on campaign attribution, the plugin also records the advertising click identifier and campaign tags from the visit that first brought that customer in, and writes them onto the customer's record in the operator's Stora account. That is off unless the operator enables it, and it is gated behind their cookie consent tool.
In that setting the operator is the controller and we are a processor acting on their instructions. Their own privacy notice needs to cover this, including the follow-up emails the plugin can send about unfinished bookings.
Who else is involved
- Stora is the storage management platform the plugin connects to. Bookings and contacts live in the operator's own Stora account.
- Our authentication proxy at proxy.amaxconnect.co.uk brokers the connection to Stora so an operator's site never stores Stora credentials. It handles access tokens, not customer records.
- Google provides Analytics on this website, and serves the fonts.
- Cloudflare filters traffic to this site.
- Hostinger hosts this website.
Some of these process data outside the UK. Where they do, transfers rely on the safeguards in their own terms, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
Demo enquiries are kept for as long as we are in conversation and for up to two years afterwards, so we can pick up where we left off. Marketing consent records are kept while you remain subscribed and for two years after you unsubscribe, so we can show that you consented. Analytics data follows Google's retention setting. Server logs are short-lived.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it. Email [email protected] and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
