This site sets very few cookies. Nothing optional is set until you accept it.

Always on

• cf_clearance is set by Cloudflare, which sits in front of this site to filter malicious traffic. It records that your browser passed a security check. Without it the site cannot reliably tell you apart from an attacker.
• acx_consent is not a cookie but a small entry in your browser's local storage. It remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we do not ask you on every page. Clearing your browser storage removes it and the banner returns.

Only after you accept

• _ga and _ga_Y25CGY0JTM are set by Google Analytics 4. They let us count visits and see which pages are read, so we can improve the site. They are set only once you press Accept. If you press Decline, or ignore the banner, they are never set.

Changing your mind

Press Decline on the banner and analytics stops immediately. If you already accepted, clear this site's cookies and local storage in your browser and the banner will reappear. Your browser settings can also block cookies entirely, though blocking the Cloudflare cookie may stop the site working.

Advertising

We do not run advertising or personalisation cookies on this website, and advertising consent stays switched off even if you accept analytics.

Fonts

Typefaces on this site are served by Google Fonts from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. That request does not set a cookie, but it does tell Google your IP address and browser. If you would prefer we self-host the fonts instead, tell us and we will.
